Our Core Beliefs

Bethesda is an intentional and participating member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). As such, we endorse the church's mission as a renewers of the faith and transformers of the world.

We believe in the Bible as the Word of God, salvation through the redemption of Christ, and the active presence of the Holy Spirit in the lives of Christians everywhere. We honor the tradition of the Church, the teachings of Martin Luther, and the rich testimony of God's continuing work in the world.

"Faith is a living, daring confidence in God's grace." -Martin Luther

Weekly Worship

At Bethesda, we value the integrity of the liturgy and traditions of the church. We celebrate the sacrament of communion every week, and honor the major festivals of the church year as reminders of the active involvement of God in the lives of His people.

The diversity of our congregation calls for diversity in worship styles. Some Sundays draw heavily on traditional hymns and music, others are much more contemporary. Our goal is to be inclusive and welcoming whatever your background or traditions, and we hope you will find our approach to music and liturgy refreshing and invigorating.
